New here
Hello!

I'm new here- in fact, I'm new to livejournal in general. My name's Rena, and I just got into watching 3 rivers recently. I was actually wondering if someone could answer a question for me. When I downloaded the pilot, I actually found two different ones- were there actually two of them, or did someone just mark one of the episodes as the pilot by mistake?

Anyway, I'm only up to the second episode but I found this group when I was googling for the next few episodes online, and thought I'd join. Once I've seen a few more episodes I want to make some icons, and this looked like the best place to post 'em.

Hey.

The original pilot aired second, they swapped the first and second episodes for some stupid reason.

Also i wouldn't get too involved in the show, it has been cancelled after only like 8 eps aired or something.

Did they ever tape a show with Julia Ormond? She was in the cast when it was first announced right but then was replaced?

I think it was shot but then trashed when her character was re-cast. Kind of like what happened with Moonlight's original pilot when they recast everyone but Alex.

I wondered if it was hiding somewhere. LOL...I'd love to see both those episodes. Although I can't imagine Sophia not being Beth.

They did tape two different pilots. The biggest give-a-way is Kate's hair. In the first one, she looked closer to Shane than Miranda as we saw her regularly. I'm assuming CBS had them add some extensions and styled it to take away from "the gay look." They also had to retape the episode when they dropped Julia Ormond for Alfre Woodard.

This is Kate's original Miranda Look:

This is what they softened it to:

In the original pilot, Miranda was also focused on much more than she was in later episodes. She was a hell of a lot more spit-fiery as well. CBS made production do A LOT of changes to the show before it aired.

(And they flip-flopped the re-taped pilot for the second episode as well.)

All in all, it was a great show with potential to be awesome. Unfortunately, some big-cheeses had no fucking clue what they were doing and botched it all up before sacking it altogether.
